Jerry Hollendorfer after Blind Luck wins the Vanity Handicap (Gr. I)
Defeated by Switch in their only previous encounter at Hollywood Park in the 2010 Hollywood Oaks, Blind Luck turned the tables Saturday, winning the $250,000 Vanity Handicap by a half-length.
Switch, who had been second or third in three of her four previous starts in graded stakes, broke through with a win on Sunday, upsetting heavily favored Blind Luck in the $150,000 Hollywood Oaks at Hollywood Park.
Second-choice Blind Luck made her own luck Sunday in the $405,250 Hollywood Starlet, making an explosive move early in the stretch and drawing away under a hand ride by jockey Rafael Bejarano to win the Grade I event by a widening seven lengths.
